'Concerts et Maladies' by Ludovic Beillard at The Smoking Room, Chez Michel, Saint-Gilles

CONCERTS  ET MALADIES

The exhibition Concerts et Maladies presents a series of pencil drawings on paper as well as beer glasses customized with small glass instruments. It's a bit as if the beer glasses were playing music, it's also another way of drinking beer as with Kwak beer whose glass shape produces a sound when you drink. We can also think of a bong, I think of those that we make with a plastic bottle and a Velleda marker but also those that are sold in tourist stores. The idea of the world of getting high. This exhibition takes place in a smoking room but it is not necessarily the link I wanted to make. It's about the moment when you start to confide, complain and rehash your stories when you've had too much to drink or enough to start talking, telling and not stopping. L’alcool triste ? I think drawing is a form of sad drinking. I like the idea of planning a sad event. It reminds me of when parties go wrong and you end up screaming and crying, I've been there. This show was also a staging of my departure, a farewell party, but nobody understood.
